BPR/KAK, Nov 4: A health mela was conducted today as a part of the Nationwide Ayushman Bhavah campaign at the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Bishnupur district.
The health mela was organised by the CHC in collaboration with the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal.
At the health mela, specialist services for various health care concerns were provided to around 181 individuals by the visiting specialist doctors including physician, surgeon, obstetrics and gynaecologists, paediatrics, orthopaedics, psychiatrist, clinical psychologists, dermatologist, eye and ENT specialists.
In addition to providing free medicines, free blood tests were also done during the health mela.
Furthermore, both Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID cards and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) cards were also generated for 104 eligible beneficiaries in today's event.
Kakching
The second phase of Ayushman Bhava Weekly Health Mela was held today at the Community Health Centre, Kakching.
The health mela was jointly organised by CHC Kakching and Shija Hospitals under the aegis of the National Health Mission, Manipur as a part of the Ayushman Bhavah Campaign initiated by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
A team of Specialist doctors of Gynaecology, Surgery, Medicine, Paediatry, ENT, Skin, Eye and Psychiatry conducted health check ups of many individuals in today's camp.
Facilities of a number of medical tests were provided and free medicines were also distributed.
Speaking in connection with the health mela, CHC Kakching, Medical Officer In-charge, Dr Kh Gopeshwar said that the health mela will help to a some extent in addressing the health issues of the locals of the region who have been facing inconveniences due to shortage of specialist doctors in the district.
Further he appealed to all to avail the benefits of health schemes initiated by the Indian Government to achieve the vision of providing healthcare facilities to all surpassing all boundaries.
