IMF/TBL, Nov 21: Diamond TV Donors' in association with US North East team, Meitei Nongsa and with contributions made by the people provided monetary assistance of Rs 50, 000 to the wife of late A Basanta from Phayeng.
Basanta, a village volunteer laid down his life while protecting his village from the attacks of Kuki militants on May 28 last just two days after the weaning ceremony of his child which was held on May 26..
The visiting team was led by Diamond TV Khongjom MD, James Heigrujam and handed over the monetary assistance to Mumta, wife of A Basanta with the aim of providing some relief to the bereaved family amid this rough phase.
The team also assured to extend all forms of help to the victims of the communal conflict and further appealed to the authority concerned to expedite resettlement measures for the displaced people.

In a bid to extend a helping hand to the conflict survivors, the students of Satyawati College (Evening) under Delhi University provided edible items to Yairipok Yambem High School relief camp today.
The students of the college contributed for the noble initiative spearheaded by the North Cell, Satyawati College (Evening) under the aegis of College convenor Professor Tulika Prasad; principal Professor Harendra Kumar and acting principal Rajiv Kumar Verma.
The guardians of the students visited the camp and handed over the relief materials to the relief on behalf of the students.
The relief committee lauded the students for their noble gesture and expressed gratitude for their support amid this trying times.
