JIRIBAM, Nov 9: The 21st foundation day celebration of Jiri Ima Meira Paibi Apunba Lup (JIMPAL) was held today at JIMPAL conference hall at Babupara in Jiribam district.
As a part of the programme, floral tributes were paid to the departed members of JIMPAL who made significant contributions for the welfare of the State.
The attendees also observed two-minute silence in the honour of the martyrs of the ongoing communal conflict and prayed that the departed souls may rest in peace at the Heavenly abode.
Jiri College principal RK Sanajaobi Devi; JIMPAL president L Bimola Devi; advisor Kh Gambhini Devi; Jiri Development Organisation (JDO) president E Dewan Singh; Jiri College Assistant Professor Dr Arun Kumar Mangang; Dr Th Somorendro Singh; L Jaminikanta Singh and Indigenous People's Organisation, Manipur president Advocate Yumnam Devadutta graced the occasion as the presidium members.
Speaking as the chief guest, RK Sanajaobi Devi highlighted the key role of Meira Paibi lups thereby spearheading important issues pertinent for the welfare of the society.
She further stated that women of the State have been striving earnestly for the well-being of the people of the State.
Stressing on the need of staying united, he appealed to all to make collective stand and work under a common agenda.
Delivering the presidential speech, JIMPAL president L Bimola said that the 21st foundation day of JIMPAL is held in a humble manner in view of the conflict in the State and to take the opportunity of raising awareness about the prevailing unrest.
