IMPHAL, Oct 4 : Taking stock of the huge number of civil society organisations cropping up in Manipur and their numerous activities, the Peace and Development Coordinating Committee (PDCC) Khundrakpam has resolved to only extend its support to the All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) and Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI).
At Manipur Press Club today, PDCC Khundrakpam president Leimapokpam Joy commended the NIA's arrest of  Seiminlun Gangte, whom he called the 'mastermind' behind the widespread attack on Meiteis by 'Kuki narco-terrorists'.
As per the NIA's investigation, Seiminlun Gangte is a suspect in the Kwakta bomb blast and also stands accused of conspiracy leading to the ethnic strife, he said.
In view of the ongoing conflict, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of organisations in the State. This has led to a confusion regarding the direction in which the people's movement is heading and PDCC has expressed the same worries in the past, said the president.
Thus, Leimapokpam Joy asserted that PDCC will only lend its support to AMUCO and COCOMI and added that it will not participate in the activities of other State CSOs.
Further, he also demanded stringent punishment for the four individuals arrested in connection with the brutal killing of the two young students and urged the State and Central Government to trace their dead bodies and hand them over to their respective families.
