IMPHAL, Oct 30 (DIPR): The State Government is all set to organise various programmes on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) tomorrow.
The day is observed all over the country to celebrate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel.
The main objective of the observation is to reinforce the message of national unity and awareness about Sardar Patel’s stellar contributions to the building of modern India.
The State Level Rashtriya Ekta Diwas will be held at 1st Battalion Manipur Rifles Parade Ground at 9.00 AM including March Past and Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge Administering Ceremony.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh will be the chief guest of the function.
On this day, the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports (YAS) will organise “A Run For Unity” involving people from all sections of the society to spread the message of national unity. The run will start from Khuman Lampak.
Ekta Diwas will also be held in all the district headquarters. For this, District Administrations have been informed to organise the programmes. National Unity Day will be also organised in various prisons of Manipur.
