IMPHAL, Oct 18 : Imphal Police station arrested three more persons including the vice president of BJYM Manipur Pradesh in connection with the October 14 firing incident at Sega Road Khwairakpam Leikai and they have been remanded to police custody till October 25.
Five persons, including a woman were injured in the firing.
The arrested persons have been identified as Nongthombam Tony Meitei (36) s/o (L) Kumar of Langthabal Lep Mayai Leikai, who is the vice president of BJYM Manipur Pradesh presently staying at Nungoi Makha Leikai, Ningthoujam Vicky (30) s/o N Bhorot of Kongba Nandeibam Leikai and Khaidem Nibas (33) s/o Lukhoi of Singjamei Wangma Pebiya Pandit Leikai.
According to reliable sources, one white Hyundai Creta used in commissioning the crime has also been confiscated by the police. All three of them were produced before the Imphal West Duty Magistrate by a team of Imphal police station today seeking eight days police custody of the accused. The Court on perusal of the case record and after hearing the submission of the IO remanded them to police custody till October 25. Two accused Alex Ningombam s/o Ajit Kumar and Gurumayum Rayban s/o (L) Robindro both from Brahmapur Laljilakpa Leikai were also arrested on October 15 for their alleged involvement in the crime.
