Ibudhou Sengmai Ningthou Hiyang Kumhei held

KAKCHING, Sep 6: The annual Ibudhou Sengmai Ningthou Hiyang Kumhei (boat racing festival) was held today at Sengmai River in Kakching district.
The festival was organised by Sengmai Ningthou Thougal Lup, Kakching.
Today's event was graced by Kakching Assembly Constituency MLA, Mayanglambam Rameshwor; Wabagai Assembly Constituency MLA, Dr Usham Deben and United Committee Manipur president, Joychandra Konthoujam as the presidium members.
The boat racing competition was attended by Manipuri film actor Irom Khaba, son of Irom Premananda,  Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai and Laimayum Suraj Sharma, son of  L Kumarjit, Nagamapal while Yengkhom Nganthoiba son of Y Bikram, Kakching Moirangthem Leikai represented the 'Laigi Tengmai Leppa'.
It is worth mentioning that Ibudhou Sengmai Ningthou Hiyang Kumhei has been held since the monarchical times and is being continued till date.
