IMPHAL, Sep 6 : The Chief judicial Magistrate Imphal West on Tuesday remanded a 37 year old man who was arrested along with 1542 bottles of Cofson CD syrup (100 ml) from Lalambung Makhong yesterday to police custody till September 12.
Accused Philam Amuba, of Nagamapal Phougeishangbam Leikai presently staying at Lalambung Makhong Takhellambam Leikai was produced before the Court by a team of Imphal police station, today.
The IO of the case submitted that a team of police rushed to Lamlambung Makhong on receiving inputs that some drug peddlers are transporting contraband drugs in the area.
Saying that the police team found the accused standing in a suspicious manner with 13 carton boxes in front of Rono Building at Lalambung Makhong Takhellambam Leikai, the IO added that the 1542 bottles of Cofson CD syrup were found packed inside the carton boxes on checking .
Reportedly, the accused has accepted the charges levelled against him.
The Court on perusal of the case record and after hearing the submission of the IO remanded the accused to seven days police custody till September 12.
