Akumen AI wins
IMPHAL, Sep 5 : A Startup Manipur beneficiary, Akumen AI, has won the Eastern Regional India finals of the 4th edition of Entrepreneurship World cup India, held at Atal Incubation Center-Sikkim Manipal University Technology Business Incubation Foundation (AIC-SMU TBI) located in the campus of Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology, at Majhitar.
Akumen AI is currently incubated at Startup incubation Center, Manipur Technical University (SIC-MTU) under the aegis of Planning Department. Akumei AI received a cheque of USD 25,000 (approximately Rs 20 lakh) from the organizers and will further represent Manipur at the National finals to be held later, said a press release issued by SIC-MTU today.
The Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) is an initiative of MISK (Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Foundation), Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) and the Global Education & Leadership Foundation (IGELF).
The event was judged by Pakyong District Collector Tashi Chopel, Sikkim Express Editor Amit Patro, Fisheries Director N Jaswant, NITI Ayog consultant Rajeev Kumar, SMIT Director Prof GL Sharma and SEED Cell's Chief Consultant Raj Lama, added the press release.
A total of 11 start-ups from across India had pitched their ideas before the panel of judges.
The Startup Manipur is an initiative of Chief Minister N Biren Singh and under the aegis of Planning Department the SIC-MTU currently incubates 16 Startup Manipur beneficiaries.
The SIC-MTU came into partnership with AIC-SMU TBI from the inception of SIC-MTU on April 28, 2022, with the support of the Planning Department, to benefit the beneficiaries of Startup Manipur and Entrepreneurs of the region.
Further, the CEO of AIC-SMU TBI, Prof Chingtham Tejbanta Singh expressed that the EWC regional finals have been conducted in Sikkim for three consecutive years with an aim to accelerate and develop over 100,000 start-ups from 100 countries by bringing together the world's top entrepreneurs, mentors, investors and educational resources. The National finals will be a culmination of a dedicated search for India's top entrepreneur following a series of seven regional finals. The winning teams will represent India at the global finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The winner of global finals will receive a prize of USD 1 million.
As an achievement of SIC-MTU and AIC-SMU TBI partnership, the team of SIC-MTU & AIC-SMU TBI, and the beneficiaries of Startup Manipur showed immense gratitude to the Chief Minister N Biren Singh and the authorities of Planning Department.
