AMNEMEA provides pension

IMPHAL, Sep 14: Under a scheme that provides pension to members of All Manipur Newspaper & Electronic Media Employees Association (AMNEMEA), an AMNEMEA team today handed over the same to Thokchom Ngouthoi Meitei, retired Head Machine Operator, Imphal Free Press at Keishibi, Imphal East.
It may be noted that Thokchom Ngouthoi Meitei who hails from Phaknung Awang Leikai, Imphal East district has worked as a machine man in various media houses of the State for the past 40 years. The former Head Machine Operator is the second person to receive the benefits of this scheme which will continue to provide him with a monthly pension amount until his demise.
The team consisted of Khunjamayum Amuchou, president AMNEMEA; Laishram Ambary, secretary; Gogo Meitram, joint secretary and other members of AMNEMEA.
 Laishram Ambary said that the pension amount was handed over with the goal of providing support to retired members of AMNEMEA and help them lead normal lives when they attain old age and are unable to work anymore.
Thokchom Ngouthoi Meitei, who is also the founder president of AMNEMEA, extended his gratitude towards the Association for their monetary support after his retirement from work. He expressed hope that the Association will successfully provide similar aid to many other members of AMNEMEA.
He also made an appeal to the State Government to provide some benefits or support to the technical staff engaged in media houses.
