DESAM calls for transparency in entrance result for admission to Diploma in Elementary Education

Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has been holding meetings with the Minister and authorities concerned in connection with the result of recently held entrance test for admission to Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El. Ed) in different District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) centres across the State.
With regards to the issue, DESAM held a meeting at the office of State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) in the presence of the Examination Controller, DDO SCERT, principals of DIET centres yesterday, said a press release by DESAM.
During the meeting, DESAM clearly presented its stand regarding the discrepancies surrounding the announcement of the result of the entrance test for D.El.Ed.
After detailed discussion, four resolutions were passed which included publishing a consolidated list of qualified candidates along with marks obtained for entrance test held at DIET and HTTI for admission to 1st year in D.El.Ed (19th Batch) for the session 2022-2024 on or before September 20.
Further it was agreed to update the websites of DIET Centres as per the current standard.
From the next 20th Batch onwards, as requested by DESAM, it was resolved to hold a common Selection Admission test (Entrance test) and evaluation at the Directorate level.
Lastly it was resolved to submit a copy of the proceedings of the meetings to the SCERT Director for implementation purposes.
It may be noted that DESAM has imposed a ban on the counselling and admission process of D.El. Ed demanding for a consolidated list showing the marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance test for admission in D.El.Ed to ensure transparency, added the release.
