IMPHAL, Sep 12 : All Mayai Lambi Transporters Association has warned of halting services if parking for buses plying along Mayai Lambi are not given in front of Waheng Leikai Lairembi by September 20.
Sepaking to the media at Manipur Press Club today, Thounaojam Premchandra, president of the All Mayai Lambi Transporters Association, said that buses plying along Mayai Lambi earlier used to be parked in front of Waheng Leikai Lairembi but since July they have been made to park near Waheng Leikai crematorium which has drastically reduced the passenger load for other vehicles including auto rickshaws and Tata Magics.
Adding that there are currently 26 buses and 650 auto rickshaws and Tata Magics plying along this route, Premchandra said if the 650 autorickhaws and Tata Magic go out of service due to lack of passengers, it is 650 families that will be affected greatly.
In addition to this, there are instances of vehicles seized by Tata Motors for non-payment of loan, he added.
Premchandra appealed the Government to look into the matter to relocate the parking area for the buses and also warned that the association will halt service if their demand is not met by September 20.
