Meritorious students feted

THOUBAL, Sep 12 : All Meetei Pangal Students Union Of Manipur (AMPSUM) on Sunday organised the "2nd Meritorious Award of Meetei Pangal Students of Manipur" at Lilong Haoreibi College ground.
It was attended by Hasina Begum, Adhyaksha Thoubal ZP; Colonel Aditiya Deo, (CO) 16 Assam Rifles Keithelmanbi; Ch Biren Singh, Secretary COHSEM; Major Deepak Katarie, 16 Assam Rifles Lilong; S Yaima Meetei, president SSUM; Raheijuddin Sheikh, Principal Lilong Haoreibi College; Shed Ahmed, president Writer Union Imphal and social activist Sanjoi Ahanthem as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, AMPSUM president, Abdul Wajid Makakakmayum appealed to the public to come together to bring forth an egalitarian society.
He mentioned that the meritorious award was presented to about 500 students who secured more than 70 percent in Class X and XII examinations.
Stating that the award was presented to encourage the students belonging to Meitei Pangal community, Abdul Wajid urged all to provide their support in guiding the students who are the future pillar of the society.
