Imphal, Sep 10 : Key office bearers of the All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) Headquarters including president, vice president and secretary general for the 2021-2023 term have been allegedly dismissed following some issues within the students' organisation and their executive committee has also been 'abolished.'
The announcement was made by AMSU adhoc executive council member Robindro Laishram during a press meet held at DM College campus at Thang- meiband, today.
Speaking to the media, Robindro said that the resolution to dismiss the key office bearers and abolish the executive committee they supported was taken during a special general body meeting held today. Saying that the adhoc committee will look into the affairs of AMSU until a proper election is held, he announced the formation of AMSU adhoc executive council and ad hoc advisory committee.
Robindro continued that the letterhead and seals used by the former president, vice president, general secretary and executive committee of the students' organisation will no longer be recognised by the students' organisation.
Saying that the former president of AMSU is a Lecturer at Norem Birahari College and he was sacked as a Government employee could not be a leader of the student's organisation, he added that the vice president of AMSU was removed as he is not qualified to hold the post while the general secretary morally assassinated the volunteers of AMSU.
