Thoubal vs Imphal East in men's Polo title clash

IMPHAL, Aug 27 : Thoubal District Polo Association will square off against Imphal East District Polo Association for the title of the 2nd Manipur Olympic Games Polo Tournament being underway at Hapta Kangjeibung.
In the first semi-final match of the tournament, the Imphal East team knocked out Kakching District Polo Association 10-2 to seal the final ticket.
L Atangba took centre stage in this one sided encounter scoring 4 goals alone as Th Kaoba and H Abung Khuman chipped in two goals each. Th Ranjit and Th Jacob also scored a goal each as Kh Sushilo scored both the goals for the Kakching team in the third chukker.
In the other semi-final match, Thoubal District Polo Association pulled off a 7-6 thrilling victory against Imphal West District Polo Association.
P Ojit scored 3 goals as M Doren scored 2 in this match as M Kuber and S Sadananda managed a goal each.
L Rohit and L Thomson shared two goals each for the Imphal West side while S Rimol and Dollar Soram added a goal each.
Imphal East bag two Tent Pegging gold medals
In the women's tent pegging competitions of the 2nd Manipur Olympic Games Equestrian tournament held at Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal East won both the team and individual gold medals.
The Imphal East team comprising Khundongbam Deventy, Khundongbam Habe, Thoudam Tanna and Thoudam Sanajaobi won gold as Imphal West team finished runners up.
In the individual event, Thoudam Tanna won the gold as Khundongbam Deventy finished second to win the silver and L Sangita of Imphal West bagged the bronze medal.
