Weaving looms distributed

IMPHAL, Jul 6: With an aim to promote the indigenous handloom products of the State and the weavers who are producing such products, weaving looms were distributed to selected weavers of Khurai Assembly Constituency today.
The weaving looms were distributed by CAF and PD Minister, L Susindro who is also the MLA of the Constituency at a simple event held at his residence at Khurai Tinsid Road.
Speaking at the occasion, L Susindro said that the initiative to distribute free weaving looms to selected weavers was taken up by the Department of Textiles, Commerce and Industry under the aegis of Chief Minister N Biren Singh to support and promote the weavers in the State.
The initiative will not only help in the production of more handloom products but will also help in improving the economic status of the State, the Minister added.
