LOUSAL stages protest rally

BISHNUPUR, Jul 5 : Mutum Churamani Meitei, president, Loumee Shinmee Apun Lup (LOUSAL) has appealed to all concerned to refrain from indulging in petty politics in the distribution of urea fertilizers to the farmers of Bishnupur district.
The statement was made by Mutum Churamani Meitei by the sideline of a protest rally organised by LOUSAL Bishnupur Unit under the banner of 'Fight for Right Campaign'. The protest rally was staged along Nachou Panthong Tiddim road demanding proper allocation of urea fertilizers to farmers.
Mutum Churamani Meitei stated that Bishnupur district is at the forefront of agricultural activities in Manipur and contributes roughly 60-70% in terms of horticultural and agricultural produce of the State.
However, the distribution system set up by the State in this regard is not working and the allocated urea fertilizers are not reaching the farmers, he alleged.
As such he appealed for proper distribution of urea fertilizers and urged the State Government to assign the respective District Agriculture Office with this task of urea distribution in the future.
It may be noted that the protest rally was taken out from Nachou Panthong upto Bishnupur District Agriculture Office.
Many farmers partook in the protest rally and held a banner with the slogan 'Fight for Right Campaign'.
Some selected representatives also met with District Agriculture Officer S Jugeshwor.
M Churamani Singh, president LOUSAL, Manipur; Kh Somendro, president LOUSAL, Bishnupur District and K Shyamkesho, president LOUSAL Moirang Pana were also present at the protest rally.
