Manipur pocket 3 gold, 2 silver at Junior National Fencing C'ships

IMPHAL, Jul 3 : Manipur fencing team secured 3 gold and 2 silver medals at the Junior National Fencing Championships which were held from June 29 to July 2 under the supervision of Fencing Association of India at Cuttack, Odisha.
W Sonia bagged two gold medals, one in the women's individual foil and one in the team event with L Dayarani, Somirin Alice and L Nirmala.
L Anita meanwhile bagged Manipur's third gold in the women's individual sabre event.
S Hemas in the meantime won Manipur a silver medal in the men's individual foil event. The men's foil team comprising S Hemas, K Avinash, Kh Rocky and Kh Yaiphaba earned Manipur the other silver medal.
The State teams were led by H Suranjoy and Omi Chanu as coaches and G Sorendro as manager.
