PPCM urges
IMPHAL, Jul 1 : Protection and Preservation Committee Manipur (PPCM) has appealed to the State Government to ensure quality in the ongoing renovation of Irang bridge built across Irang river and the Imphal Jiribam road.
As per a statement, a team of PPCM carried out inspection of the Imphal Jiribam road and Irang bridge under the leadership of Laikhuram Jayenta, convenor PPCM.
Stressing on the poor condition of Imphal Jiribam road, the statement also highlighted the lack of proper drainage system which often results in pooling of water in the middle of the road.
The team also spoke with officials of Paratech Constructions Private Limited which is responsible for the ongoing construction work of Irang bridge and Imphal-Jiri road. According to them, the project will be completed after 20 to 30 days, the statement added.
PPCM expressed discontent with the pace of construction work, inadequate labour etc.
As such, PPCM has urged the State Government to supervise the construction work strictly to ensure that quality is maintained in the renovation of Irang bridge and Imphal-Jiri road.
