Former Archbishop Joseph Mittathany DD condoled

Manipur Catholic Women Organization (MCWO) expressed shock on the untimely demise of Most Rev Joseph Mittathany DD, the Archbishop Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Imphal on July 11.
In a condolence message, MCWO recalled Joseph Mittathany DD as a great leader, visionary and shepherd of the Archdiocese of Imphal and the people of Manipur.
'His contribution in the education sector in Manipur through the various educational institutions run in the State and in the health sector is a loving testimony of his love for the people of Manipur irrespective of caste, creed, tribe or religion. He championed the empowerment of the poor and marginalized sections and worked for the cause of women folk especially in the spiritual and socio-economic development', said the message.
The members of the Manipur Catholic Women Organization expressed their deepest grief at this dark of losing him and extended their condolences to the bereaved family members, the Diocesan fraternity and Archbishop of Imphal Most Rev Dominic Lumon.
