UADC Caretaker Chairman resigns

Ukhrul, Jun 7 : Ukhrul Autonomous District Council Caretaker Chairman Dr Yaronsho Ngalung has resigned from his post on his own volition and in public interest.
The Caretaker Chairman of Ukhrul ADC submitted his resignation letter addressed to the Governor through Ukhrul Deputy Commissioner on Monday.
Speaking to this correspondent, Dr Ngalung said that he resigned as the Caretaker Chairman of Ukhrul ADC in the wider interest of the public and to establish a popular local self Government in all the hill districts of Manipur.
To a query, Dr Ngalung claimed that he is the only Caretaker Chairperson from among the five ADCs of the hill districts to take the bold decision so as to safeguard the rights of the tribal populace.
Dr Yaronsho Ngalung was appointed as Caretaker Chairman of Ukhrul ADC in May 2021.
Following his resignation, the post which is to oversee the functioning of Autonomous District Council is now vacant for Ukhrul & Kamjong districts.
