Blood donation camp organised

All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union (AMGSU) organised a blood donation camp at the Blood Bank, RIMS today in connection with the 131st Martyrs' Day of Saheed Subedar Niranjan Singh Chhetri.
The blood donation camp was organised in association with Department of Transfusion Medicine, RIMS, said a press release by AMGSU.
Altogether 19 people from Kanglatongbi, Motbung, Kalapahar, Leimakhong, Irang, Churachandpur, Serou donated blood in today's camp.
AMGSU organised the camp commemorating the sacrifice of Saheed Niranjan Singh Chhetri who was hanged by British on June 8, 1891 at the Western Gate of Kangla for revolting against the Britishers. He was one of the closest associate of Yubraj Tikendrajit and was given the responsibility of training the Manipuri soldiers, added the release.
