130th birth anniversary of Sorokhaibam Lalit Singh, Natya Ratna celebrated

IMPHAL, Jun 5: The 130th birth anniversary of Sorokhaibam Lalit Singh, Natya Ratna was jointly organised by Manipur Dramatic Union and Sorokhaibam Lalit Memorial Trust today at MDU Hall, Yaiskul Police Lane at 2 pm.
A book authored by Dr Athokpam Kholchandra, Guest Faculty, Manipur University titled 'Manipur Theatre Gi Lamyanba Ama Sorokhaibam Lalit Singh' was also released  as a part of the day's function.
The event was attended by Yumnam Khemchand, Minister MAHUD & RDPR as the chief guest,  Yumnam Radheshyam, MLA, Hiyanglam AC as the guest of honour and Soraisam Keshoram, president, Manipur Dramatic Union as president of the function.
Manipur Dramatic Union also presented Sorokhaibam Lalit Singh's drama titled "Sati Khongnang'' directed by B Jugolchandra Sharma to delight the audience.
Speaking on the occasion, MAHUD Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh said that the birth anniversary observance of eminent theatre personality Sorokhaibam Lalit Singh has injected new blood into the theatre world.
