79 roads set for expansion; DCs asked to issue notices

IMPHAL, Jun 4: As a part of its 100 Action Plan for First 100 Days, the State Government has selected 79 roads for expansion.
Subsequently, Joint Secretary (Revenue) Y Rajen Singh wrote to the Deputy Commissioners concerned on June 1 to issue due notifications for widening of the roads within their respective jurisdictions.
Imphal East DC Khumanthem Diana issued a notice on June 2 directing all Sub-Divisional Officers of Imphal East to take up necessary action for fixing boundaries of the proposed width of Right of Way (ROW) of the roads along with officials of Executive Engineer, PWD, Imphal East and submit a detailed report at the earliest.
Any encroachment on State land/road may also be evicted under due process of law, mentioned the DC’s notice.
The 79 roads selected for expansion include 18 in Imphal West, 30 in Imphal East, nine under Highway South, six in Kakching, four in Bishnupur, one in Senapati, two in Kamjong, four in Noney, four in Churachandpur and one in Pherzawl.
Some major roads in Imphal West district selected for widening are Laishram Leirak (proposed ROW 11 m) which connects Imphal-Kangchup road to Imphal West DC office, Watham Leirak (ROW 11 m), urban bye pass road from Lilasing Khongnangkhong to Iroi-semba via Langol Thongak Lairembi and Games Village (ROW 11 m), RMC road to urban bye pass road via Super Market   (ROW 11 m) and Fishery Junction to MI Junction (ROW 11 m).
Major district roads set for expansion are Kwa-keithel-Naoremthong road (ROW 11 m), Takyel-Ghari road (ROW 21.50 m),  Khwairak Selungba road (ROW 11 m), Moirang-mayum Leirak, from NH 37 to Kwakeithel (ROW 11 m), FCI to Tubungkhok via Monsang (ROW 9 m), Polem Leirak, from IK road to NH 37 (ROW 9 m), Kombirei road, from Imphal West DC office to Langol Thongak Lairembi (ROW 11 m), Khoyathong to Lamphelpat road (ROW 11 m) and Sorbon Thingel road (ROW 9 m).   
State highways selected for expansion in Imphal East are Imphal-Yairipok road, up to Kongba Bazar (ROW 20 m), Imphal-Sagolmang-Saikul road, up to Pangei (ROW 30 m), Checkon road  (ROW 25 m) and Dingku road (ROW 25 m).
Major district roads set for expansion in Imphal East include Thangapat Mapal road (ROW 10 m), Tinseed road (ROW 15 m), Koirengei-Sekmai road (ROW 15 m), Don Bosco road (ROW 20 m), Singjamei-Kongba road (ROW 20 m), Ayangpalli road (ROW 20 m), Tellipati road (ROW 13 m) and Porompat road No 1 (ROW 35 m).
Other district roads listed for expansion include NH 39 to Singjamei Kongba road via old Thumbuthong bridge (ROW 12 m), NH 39 to Singjamei Kongba road via new Thumbuthong bridge (ROW 15 m), Ahallup road (ROW 12 m), Heingang Kangjeibung road (ROW 12 m), Khabam Lamkhai to Halmilton bridge (ROW 12 m), Pangei-Waiton road (ROW 13 m), Top Bengoon road ROW 10 m), Yonglan road (ROW 10 m), Khongman Mangjil to Okram Chuthek (ROW 12 m), Okram Chuthek to Panthoibi Bazar (ROW 10 m), Imphal-Yairipok road to Waithou Bazar via Sandrok (ROW 10 m) and Minuthong Hatta road to JN Hospital crossing to Ayangpalli (ROW 10 m).
Major district roads under Highway South which are set for expansion include Khagempalli-Naoremthong road (ROW 20 m), Kwakeithel-Ningthemcha Karong road (ROW 20 m),  Chingamakha Canchipur road up to Thong Ahanbi and road connecting MU 1st gate and MU northern gate via Catholic School (ROW 20 m), Pishumthong to Singjamei traffic point (ROW 20 m), Singjamei Thongam Leikai road (ROW 11 m) and Liwa Road (ROW 11 m).
Other district roads listed for widening are Konjeng Leikai-Waishel road via Ningthemcha Karong road (ROW 20 m), Kwakeithel to  Langpok Bazar via Konjeng Leikai, Comprehensive School and Ningombam (ROW 20 m) and Tidim Road to Heinou Khongnembi (ROW 20 m).    
Bishnupur MI road (ROW 10 m), Wabagai Lamkhai to Sugnu Road (ROW 12 m), Pallel-Mantak road (ROW 11 m), Kakching Hospital road (ROW 11 m), Sengrong to Anganching road (ROW 11 m), Kakching-Langmeidong road (ROW 11 m), Kakching DC approach road (ROW 15 m), and Senapati bridge to TNK village (ROW 9 m) have also been listed for expansion.
