Book released

A book titled “Developing Human Resource in Manipur through National Service Scheme” was released by  Professor N Lokendra Singh, Vice-chancellor, Manipur University (MU) and Dr Maibam Nodyachand Singh, Programme Co-ordinator, NSS Cell, HOD, Department of Yoga , MU at VC’s Committee Room today.
The book is authored by Dr Okram Sanajaobi Devi, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, Liberal College, Luwangshangbam and NSS Programme Officer Unit –II, said a statement by NSS Cell Programme Co-ordinator.
Professor N Lokendra Singh commended Dr Okram Sanajaobi Devi for sensitizing the masses about NSS through the book and also suggested to continue to publish such books as it will help in including value added course subjects in the University.
Dr Maibam Nodiyachand Singh while explaining about the book, said that the book consists of  important findings, recommendations and results that NSS can apply in future courses of action. He also spoke about the present scenario of NSS in Manipur as well as in Manipur University.
It may be noted that the NSS programme was inducted  at Manipur University in 1980 and at present the varsity has three units of NSS, he added.
Dr Premlata Maisnam, Head of Department of Education, MU,Naorem Joytin Singh, Manipur University NSS Awardee, Dr RK Brajananda Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Liberal College and programme officers of NSS Unit –I, II and III, Manipur University also attended the programme, added the statement.
