IMPHAL, Jun 24: Institute of Manipuri Performing Arts (IMPA) presented an artful performance of 'Pungyam Yeiba' at the institute's premises located at Sangsabi (Sanjenbam) in Imphal East today.
The event was organised under the supervision of Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi.
Speaking on the occasion, special invitee Th Brajabidhu, Programme Executive Doordarshan Kendra Imphal said that the reason Doordarshan Kendra Imphal is able to broadcast various art and culture programmes in the State and beyond is due to the presence of cultural institutions and their hard work.
Delivering the presidential speech, Kh Momon, former Executive member, North East Cultural Centre Dimapur stated that culture plays a key role in shaping a community's identity and lifestyle. As such, IMPA has contributed greatly in the preservation of Manipuri culture, he added.
Lastly, speaking as the chief guest, Th Jiten, Ward Member, Sangsabi assured the gathering of consulting the clubs and locals of the area in regards to the expansion of the institution's hall. He added that he will provide any necessary aid in this connection to the best of his abilities.
