ANUL celebrates 17th Foundation Day

BISHNUPUR, Jun 22 : Apunba Nupi Lup (ANUL), Bishnupur District, on Wednesday celebrated its 17th Foundation Day at the Conference hall of ANUL in Bishnupur Thiyam Leikai Ward No 8.
It was attended by ANUL president, Lourembam Pramo; Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup (AMKIL) president, Lourembam Nganbi; Nupi Samaj advisor, Kh Indu; All Manipur Tammi Chingmi Apunba Nupi Lup president, Y Momon and Ereipak Enaat Chanura Loinasillon (EECHAL) president, T Ibemcha as presidium members.
Floral tributes were also paid to the portraits of Late Ema Sumati and Late Ema Ibemhal, deceased members of ANUL.
Speaking on the occasion, Kh Pramo, secretary ANUL informed that Apunba Nupi Lup was established on June 22, 2005 to work for the betterment of the society.
T Ibemcha expressed her concern with the increasing division between the Hills and valley of the state.
She appealed to the women organisations, student unions and other CSOs of the state irrespective of hills or valleys to come together for the welfare of the people.
Lourembam Nganbi raised questions over the logic behind the push to legalize liquor when many are working to prohibit poppy plantations in the state.
She appealed to the Government to reinstate the Manipur Prohibition Act and support the fight against the drug menace in the state.
