State sub-junior and junior swimming teams announced for Aquatic Nationals

IMPHAL, Jun 1 : Manipur Swimming Association has announced names of athletes who will be representing Manipur in the 38th Sub-Junior National Aquatic Championships-2022 to be held in Rajkot, Gujarat from June 24 to 26 and the 48th Junior National Aquatic Championships-2022 to be held in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha from July 16 to 20.
As named by the association in an office order regarding the junior championships, Laitonjam Lanchenba of CSC will be competing in Boys Age Group III- 50 m freestyle, 50 m butterfly, 50 m breaststroke 100 m breaststroke and 200 IM events while Panthoi Devi Sagolshem of HLSYDO will compete in girls Age Group III 50 m freestyle event.
In diving event, Disesh Loitongbam of CSC (Age Group III), Korounganba Sapam of CSC (Age Group II) and Laishram Dexson of CSC (Age Group I)  all will be competing in 1 m springboard, 3 m springboard and high board events while Parisana Pongsumbam of MGMC (Age Group I) will participate in 3 m springboard event.
The association also named Huirem Gojen as manager cum coach of the team.
For the Junior Nationals, Manipur Swimming Association has named 7 swimmers and a boys' water polo team.
Ningombam Jeson Meitei of KKDA (Age Group I), Shagolshem Gelison Singh of TYC  (Age Group I), Kshetrimayum Debraj Singh of CSC  (Age Group II), Suranjit Puyam of HLSYDO  (Age Group II) and Budhachandra Nongthombam will be competing in swimming events for boys while Siddhika Huidrom of MGMC (Age Group II) and Hatnunnem Haokip of IDEAL (Age Group II) made the cut for girls swimming team.
On the other hand, the athletes who will be representing Manipur in the Water Polo Tournament are - Thongam Ranbir (GK) of HLSYDO, Laikhuram Velenjit (Captain) of WYLCO, Alvish Athokpam (Vice Captain) of KYO, Longjam Rakesh of CSC, Langpoklakpam Lanchenba of HLSYDO, Laishram Birjit of KKDA, Thokchom Kelvinson of NLM, Thangjam Joychandra of KYO, Irengbam Reebertson Singh of MGMC, Kangujam Gulson of KYO, Khagemba Sarungbam of HLSYDO, Chakpram Peter of TYC and Nongthanganba Irengbam (GK) of USA.
The team will be led by T Thouba and Gireesh A as manager and coach.
