IMPHAL, Jun 18 : The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has taken a swipe at Chief Minister N Biren Singh for his remark which roughly states that "Saving Manipur without following the philosophy of BJP would be difficult."
Speaking to media persons at Congress Bhavan at BT Road today, MPCC vice president Hareshwar Goshwami said that the statement of N Biren Singh could not be taken lightly as it may carry  a discreet meaning and reflects the agenda of the saffron party to establish a Hindu Rashtra.
Continuing that the remark of the Chief Minister was very sensitive, the Congress leader claimed that most of the past leaders of the BJP supported fascist philosophy and their intention was to build Hindu Rashtra.
It is the ideologies of Deendayal Upadhyaya,  Dr BS Moonje, Damodar Prabhakar, Keshav Baliram Hedgewar and MS Golwalkar which are being followed by the BJP today, he maintained and claimed that it was Dr BS Moonje who introduced the idea of fascism in India after meeting fascist leader Benito Mussolini in Italy.
Taking all this into consideration, it is clear that the Chief Minister was referring to supporting a fascist Government on the pretext of saving Manipur,  Hareshwar Goshwami claimed.
Further claiming that the remark of N Biren hints at the need to establish Hindu Rashrta to save Manipur, the Congress leader alleged that RSS and the BJP have been anti-National and anti-Indian since the past as its founding members even questioned the India flag for incorporating green colour which they believe reprsent Muslim community and didn't take part in the Quit India Movement.
Saying that people of the country have been bearing the brunt of misgovernance since BJP came into power, he asserted that India as a whole is only backtracking since the past few years.
"The BJP's vision of new India is only moving backward," he added.
Claiming that mistrust among the people of different backgrounds is also on the rise during this BJP regime, Hareshwar Goshwami maintained that the foreign relations of the country have also been greatly affected by the administration of the present Government.
The Congress also claimed that these last eight years are the dark age of India as many promises given by the BJP have failed to actualise.
