UCM Lamsang Unit opened

IMPHAL, Jun 12: In continuation of opening different units of United Committee Manipur (UCM) across the State, UCM Lamsang Unit was opened today.
The unit was formed after conducting a meeting at Lamsang Makha Leikai.
The event was attended by UCM president, Joychandra Konthoujam, general secretary Ng Deba and Th Ibohal as the chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.
The office bearers of UCM Lamsang Unit were also elected today followed by the oath taking ceremony.
The office bearers who were elected today are Laishram Victoria (Chairman), Thangjam Diya (Vice Chairman), Taorem Sunder (General Secretary), Bijen Achom (Organisational Secretary), Modhubala (Women's Affairs Secretary), Rohit (Joint Secretary), Ima Ibeni (Finance Secretary) and Samananda Laishram (Youth Affairs Secretary).
Speaking at the occasion, Joychandra Konthoujam stated that UCM will not only focus on issues concerning the unity and integrity of Manipur but will also contribute in matters related to agriculture sector, horticulture, empowerment of youths and women, health sectors and other developmental programmes as well.
He further stated that the unit formed today will look into the issues within its jurisdiction and try to solve it accordingly.
If the matter is complex and needs more attention, then the unit will coordinate with the UCM Head office to address such issues, he added.
He also sought support and coordination from all and to work collectively for a peaceful, stable and progressive Manipur.
