4th Government Drivers Day observed

BISHNUPUR, Jun 11 : All Manipur Government Drivers & Technicians Association on Saturday observed the "4th Government Drivers' Day" by planting tree saplings at its office premises in Bishnupur Ward No 6.
It was attended by All Manipur Government Drivers & Technicians Association president, K Ibomcha Sharma; assistant general secretary, N Lalit; publicity secretary, L Somendra; administration secretary, L Noren; joint secretary, Ph Purna and chief advisor, S Ibopishak along with drives and technicians from various parts of the state.
Speaking on the occasion, K Ibomcha Sharma stated that the association was affiliated to All India Government Drivers Confederation, New Delhi and North Eastern State Government Drivers Forum in 1997 after years of hard work by its members.
He also appealed to the State Government to look into the working condition, provide proper uniform and increase grade pay of the drivers.
K Ibomcha further urged the Government to regularise the drivers who have been working for 10 years and initiate schemes to assist the retired drivers.
