Village Authority clarifies

SENAPATI, Jun 9 : The Tumuyon Khullen Village Authority has come out strongly against any individual/organisations defaming the name and morale of Tumuyon Khullen Village.
In a release, the Tumuyon Khullen Village Authority clarified that the village authority in association with village youth club have been giving their full support and cooperation to the "War on Drugs" mission initiated by the State Government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister N Biren Singh by destroying poppy cultivation within their jurisdiction.
The village authority continued that to their surprise a news column titled, "2.2 kg of heroin seized" was circulated in print and electronic media on May 26, 2022 wherein it was claimed that the drugs were loaded from T Khullen of Senapati district.
It also informed that on the said evening, a combined team of Imphal East Commando and Heingang police arrested two drug dealers along with 2.288 kg of heroin (No 4) which were concealed in 176 soap cases from Khabam Lamkhai, Mantripukhri near Sushma Photo Studio along Imphal-Dimapur highway at around 1:25 pm.
During the operation, the driver and his assistant identified as Abinash Oli (30) s/o Pasuram Oli of Mantripukhri Devi Lane and Sagar Sharma (18) s/o Deepak Sharma of Kanglatongbi Durga Mandir Hathikwa (near SBI ATM), presently residing at Senapati, Vakho Bazar were arrested.
Following which, the Tumuyon Village Authority set up a special committee to enquire about the said case and provide all possible cooperation to the police department. However, on detailed inquiry, it was reportedly found that no local from the village was involved in the case.
In this regard, A Maraiba, chairman of Tumuyon Khullen Village had also cautioned all not to carry out any form of illegal transactions within their jurisdiction and to take up stringent action against any violators based on customary laws.
The village authority further appreciated the police department and reaffirmed its stand to support the State Government's War on Drugs mission.
