World TB Day observed

SENAPATI, Jun 1 (DIO):
The District Health Society, National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP), Senapati district observed World Tuberculosis Day at CMO Conference Hall, Senapati alongwith the inauguration of a digital x-ray machine by Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Senapati.
Speaking as the chief guest, Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS, DC, Senapati stated that more focus must given on awareness programmes. He applauded the District TB Officer and her teams for making it possible to set up the first Digital X- Ray in the State and making it functional. He also welcomed anyone with any queries and suggestions to his office.
It may be mentioned that digital X-ray will be very beneficial to both TB-infected and unaffected person so that certain measure can be taken up at the earliest. For all presumptive TB cases and HCW’s, it will be free of cost. There has been also a case of 5 deaths in the district due to TB in the year 2022.
The programme was attended by DLOs, various medical officers, health workers and staff.
