Mishap claims 1

Senapati, Jun 1 : One IRB personnel was killed yesterday after his Activa collided with a 12-wheeler truck at Rikhumai Taphou area in Senapati district.
Reportedly, the mishap took place at around 10 am when the deceased was heading towards Imphal after duty at Senapati branch of SBI.
The deceased has been identified as RP Rocky alias Dahrii of Thingba Khullen, Senapati and he succumbed to the injuries at Senapati district hospital.
An FIR has been registered at Senapati police station.
Soon after the accident, a JAC was formed and they urged the State Government to provide some sort of compensation and provide a job to the next of kin of the deceased under the die-in-harness scheme.
The JAC  also resolved to not claim the mortal remains of Rocky unless the truck driver is booked as per the law of the land.
An economic blockade will be imposed along the highway if the demands are not entertained, warned the JAC.
Later in the evening, the JAC members along with district student leaders met Senapati DC Mahesh Chaudhari and signed an agreement at Senapati DC complex.
The JAC also submitted a charter of demands to Chief Minister N Biren Singh through the DC.
