Khombram Canal cleaned

BISHNUPUR, May 8: Moirang Kendra Apunba Loumee Sinmee Lup Amasung Nupi Lup in association with Minor Irrigation Department have initiated a drive to clean the choked Khombram canal at Terakhongshangbi Leimaram in Bishnupur district.
It may be mentioned that the 5km long canal will provide water for irrigation to paddy fields of Maronglou and Khombram.
The drive was participated by Minor Irrigation Department Bishnupur Subdivision, SO, S Rajen; SO, Ph Nobin; Tronglaobi Terakhongshangbi GP pradhan, L Basant;  Moirang Kendra Apunba Loumee Sinmee Lup Amasung Nupi Lup secretary, L Manglem; joint secretary, N Deben; advisor, Th Biren and members of the lup.
Speaking to media persons, L Manglem extended his appreciation to the Chief Minister and authorities concerned for following through with the request made by the Lup to repair the Khombram Thingel Dam.
"The lup had earlier made an appeal to the Chief Minister and authorities concerned to repair the dam during the meeting held on April 13 at City Convention", he added.
