IMPHAL, May 6: Andy Mangsatabam, promoter and director of Punya Motors Private Ltd has categorically denied the allegation made by Annie Mangsatabam, secretary, Integrated Women and Children Development Centre (IWCDC), that the staff of Punya Motors attacked the female staff of Shine De-addiction Centre located at Thangmeiband Yumnam Leikai.
Addressing a press briefing held at Manipur Press Club today, Andy Mangsatabam shared that Annie Mangsatabam is his blood sister and the allegations of violence meted out to the female staff of the centre are fabricated.
He informed that the situation arose as a result of a property dispute with his sister but alleged that the matter had been painted in a completely different light by Annie Mangsatabam.
He alleged that the property where the de-addiction centre was set up had been under their mother's name but Annie Mangsatabam had recently transferred ownership of the property to herself, he claimed.
Andy Mangsatabam further added that they had only requested to transfer ownership of the property back to their mother.
'Annie Mangsatabam has never been forbidden from using the property', he maintained.
He continued to refute the allegation saying that female staff had not been attacked and that the whole thing was a personal family matter.
Ch Kanan, general manager, Punya Hyundai also refuted the claims of violence and added that the FIR filed in this connection was unfounded.
Further, she asserted that the truth will be revealed after inspecting the camera footage of the centre.
