KRU-NEI, KRSU clarify

KANGPOKPI, May 30 :  The Komrem Union North East India and Komrem Students Union Manipur have jointly clarified to the public that Kom and Purum tribes are still under the platforms of Komrem Union, Komrem Student Union and Komrem Baptist Churches' Association.
It stated that no union or association has been formed either by Kom or Purum tribes to replace the above-cited platforms till now with the approval of the village chiefs and public.
It also stated that in secular matters, the Kom and Purum people are solely under the KRU-NEI and KRSU and hence no other organisation in the name of Kom has the right to represent the Kom community at any level. It also appealed to the CSOs and Government of Manipur to not entertain/recognise them.
It may be noted that  Komrem Union Manipur and KRSU had strongly opposed the Kom Union election held on My 28 and called it unnecessary to form a new organisation at this juncture.
