Manipuri Manoharsai held

IMPHAL, May 2 : The State Level Festival of Manipuri Manoharsai was conducted at Mandana Mohan Mandhop, Kongba yesterday. The cultural event was organized by Manipuri Manoharsai Ashram, Imphal.
Speaking to the media, Takhelchangbam Dwijamani Sharma, Executive Member of Manipuri Manoharsai Ashram conveyed that the cultural event was organized as ‘Mahotsav’ with the aim to revive the dying art form of Manipuri Manoharsai.
He claimed that the Manipuri Sankirtan which is  recognized by UNESCO is a composition of Nat Sankirtan, Ariba Pala, Dhop Pala and Manoharsai Sankirtan. Dwijamani went on to seek support from cultural activists and media to promote and highlight the beauty of Manoharsai and Manipuri Sankirtan to the outside world. Twelve pallas (cultural troupes) showcased their performances during the event.
