"World Menstrual Hygiene Day" observed

Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP), Manipur Prant observed "World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2022" to create awareness about menstruation and to provide safe and hygienic practice during menstruation at Poirei Nawakol, Achanbigei along with the inmates of the home today.
As per a statement by BVP, Manipur Prant stated that awareness talk on the importance of menstrual hygiene was delivered by Joybi Heikrujam, Regional Secretary, Mahila and Bal Vikas, BVP while Dr Nongthombam Muhindro Singh, Regional Secretary, Sampark, BVP spoke on the role of youth specially the girl child in building a healthy nation.
Bimal Thapa, Secretary, BVP, Imphal Sakha and the Secretary of Poirei Nawakol also attended as the presidium members of the programme.
Sanitary napkins, stationery items and food items were also distributed to the all the girl child present at the programme, added the release.
It may be noted that World Menstrual Hygiene Day is observed on May 28 every year as an annual global event to raise awareness about the challenges women and girls face due to menstruation and to highlight solutions to provide safe and hygienic practices to girls and eradicate persisting taboos and stigma.
