Temporary market shed inaugurated

KAKCHING, May 27 : MLA Rameshwar inaugurated a newly constructed temporary Ima Keithel market shed today during an inaugural ceremony organised by Pallel Bazar Board Action Committee under the aegis of Manipur Police Housing Corporation Limited.
The ceremony was graced by  M Chandrakishor, president, Pallel Bazar Board Action Committee;  C Doungel IPS, Managing Director, Manipur Police Housing Corporation Limited, Shrey Vats, Kakching SP;  Adhari Mahio, ADM Kakching and S Joykumar, Up-Pradhan, Pallel Gram Panchayat as presidium members.
Speaking as the chief guest, MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar said that Pallel bazar is a hub of trade and commerce for the people of Kakching, Tengnoupal and Chandel.
It also has potential of becoming a hub for Indo-Myanmar trade, and as  such efforts must be made to ensure the market is upgraded to keep up with the fast pace of the business world.
The MLA added that Chief Minister N Biren Singh had approved a Rs 10 crore sanction for the construction of Pallel Ima Keithel. The temporary market shed was constructed to ensure that vendors can continue selling their wares and earning their daily wage while the Pallel Ima Keithel begins construction, the MLA stated. He also appealed to the public to maintain cleanliness while carrying out their business in the newly constructed temporary market shed.
