KSTC organises cleanliness drive

SENAPATI, May 26 :  A mass awareness cleanliness drive was organised by Karong Senapati Town Committee (KSTC) on Wednesday across various colonies along with cleaning of Senapati River and its tributaries to make the area a waste disposal free zone.
The said social work was reportedly initiated by the Town Committee (KSTC) to keep Senapati town and its jurisdiction free from any contagious diseases that could spread from contaminated waste.
Briefing media persons after the social work, A John, president, KSTC stated that the drive was conducted in order to maintain cleanliness across Senapati town with the arrival of the rainy season. All colonies under KSTC reportedly partook in the cleanliness drive.
In a meeting after the cleanliness drive concluded, it was resolved to stop disposal of any waste into the Senapati river promptly.
The Town Committee president also mentioned that an order would be issued very soon to take up action against anyone who throws wastes into the Senapati River.
