Border Gate
IMPHAL, May 26 : The BM Division of the Ministry of External Affairs has sent a recommendation to the authorities concerned to open the border gate no 1 at ICP Moreh so as to resume border trade between India and Myanmar by strictly adhering to Covid appropriate behaviour.
In an office memorandum dated May 20, 2022, Joint Secretary (BM) Smita Pant said that the Ministry has been approached by the Myanmar side to open the border gate which has been closed since March 2020 due to Covid pandemic.
The memorandum, however, didn't mention when the border gate will be reopened to resume border trade with the neighbouring country.
It also said that all stakeholders in the Central and Manipur Government have recommended opening the border gate no 1 at ICP, Moreh.
