DESAM decries
IMPHAL, May 23 : The Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has claimed that absence of adequate teachers and infrastructure in many schools has robbed the rights of numerous students to free and compulsory education.
In a statement, DESAM said that altogether 54 students are being enrolled in Pangantabi Upper Primary School (Class I to VIII) but the school has only three teachers.
Asking how the school can impart quality education despite the lack of teachers, DESAM claimed that the available teachers are doing all they can to conduct classes regularly.
"The teachers there have been educating students of two classes each in only one room but how can the school produce good students with this method," it asked.
