Lokayukta takes cognizance

IMPHAL, May 23 : The Special Judge Lokayukta Manipur today took cognizance of a case of misconduct and cheating by PWD officers in connection with improvement of 10 km road stretch from Khunbi to Machi and issued notice to the officers involved to appear before the Court on June 18.
IO of the case Sarangthem Hemanta Additional SP Vigilance and Anti corruption police Station Manipur on Saturday  submitted the chargesheet of the case filed by Kh Duneshwor, Inspector, Inquiry Wing Manipur Lokayukta in September 2020.
The chargesheet was against 7 officials namely- K Premkumar (59) of Moirangkhom, the then Superintendent Engineer III PWD Manipur; Oinam Inaoba (61) of Khongman Zone IV, the then Executive Engineer, Tengnoupal Division; Soiminthang Singson (60) of Moreh Ward Number 9 Chikim village presently (residing at present PWD complex Khuyathong) then Executive Engineer Tengnoupal Division; Veineilam Haokip (39) of Sugnu Munpi village (presently residing at Langol Housing complex), the then Assistant Engineer Moreh Sub Division; Ch Mology Maring (30) of Kambang Khunou Section officer Tengnoupal Division; Hemkhopao (56) of Sugnu, first class contractor and Yumnam Ranjit (58) of Moreh Ward Number 8 (presently residing at Kakwa Khongnang Pheidekpi).
