Drugs seized

IMPHAL, May 22 : A combined team of Bishnupur commando, Kumbi police and a column of 16 Assam Rifles arrested a 31 year old man along with 692 gram of heroin (suspected) from Chairen village in Kakching district.
The arrested person has been identified as Jamkhotinsat (31), s/o Jamsei of Saichang village, Churachandpur.
As per sources, Jamkhotinsat came to the area in a blue Activa 3G and the suspected heroin was found concealed inside the toolbox of the vehicle.
Rs 12,000 in cash was also seized from his possession. He has been handed over to Kumbi police station.
In another instance, a team of  Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB) personnel seized 4 kg of opium and 275 gram of heroin from the northern side of Sekmaijin Bridge today at around 5 pm.
The narcotic was brought by Nandeibam Kenedy (21), s/o  N Ibotomba Meitei of Wapokpi Chingchep Leikai, Sugnu.
A case has been registered.
