KCA resolves

THOUBAL, May 19 : The Kuki Chiefs' Association (KCA), Tengnoupal has resolved to endorse the War on Drug campaign of the State Government and do away with poppy plantations in the district.
The resolution was made public during a public meeting held today at Tuinom village and it was participated by members of KCA, Tengnoupal, KCA Moreh block, KCA Machi block, KWRO Tengnoupal and different leaders of Kuki CSOs.
At the meeting, vice president of KCA Tengnoupal, Th Thokhothang Haokip said that the people of the district have agreed to end poppy plantation to support the War on Drug campaign.
Saying that a 10-member committee has also been constituted to check poppy cultivation in the district, he appealed to the State Government to give special attention to Tengnoupal and expeditiously provide alternative  sources of livelihood to the people of the district.
