Kangpokpi DC meets DLOs

KANGPOKPI, May 19 (DIO)
As part of the 100 days action plan programme,  Deputy Commissioner,  Zuringla Kengoo, IAS, today met with the District Level Officers to discuss the various initiatives taken up by the various government departments in Kangpokpi district. She said that Chief Minister N Biren Singh is emphasising on districts, especially on the sub-divisions.
In view of the recent torrential rains, she advised the police department to keep a check on Sangkolei bridge near Motbung on NH-2 (Imphal-Kohima road) and to make sure to check traffic volume. With regards to the deteriorating condition of two bridges at Kangchup Geljang, she asked the Police and PWD Department to cordon off the area and divert the road to ensure the safety of the people.
During the meeting, Forest Department informed that following the instruction from the Chief Minister, a mass plantation programme will be carried out in Koubru and Singda which are identified catchment areas.
It may be mentioned that ‘Save Singda Movement’ has already commenced with a plantation programme carried out under the leadership of Forest Minister Th Biswajit Singh on May 16.
