Skill training programme launched

IMPHAL, May 19 : Skills, Labour, Employment and Entrepreneurship Minister Heikham Dingo Singh launched a skill training programme for people who returned to Manipur due to Covid pandemic under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) at his office chamber at Imphal, today.
The skill training programme will be conducted under the funding of NEC.
Secretary of Skills Labour Employment and Entrepreneurship John Tlangtinkhuma and Mission Director of Manipur Society for Skill Development (MSSD) Kimjalhai Kipgen also attended the programme.
There, H Dingo said that the initiative was taken up in the interest of those Manipuris who lost their jobs during the peak of COVID-19 and have been remaining unemployed till today.
The Minister said that the skill training programme which will be participated by 9,400 returnees is a part of the 100 days action programme of the State Government.
CEO of KB Philanthropy Laishram Manoranjan said that his firm will provide training to the returnees in three sectors - beauty and wellness, retail and hospitality so that they could become self-reliant and contribute to Nation building.
KB Philanthropy is registered under National Skill Development Cooperation (NSDC).
He also said that people working in the unorganised sector can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) certification to secure a better livelihood and easily avail the benefit of Mudra loan.
Manoranjan said that people who want to take part in the training programme can register at the website of Manipur Society for Skill Development .
