No new cases, again

IMPHAL, May 15: For the third day in a row, there was neither any Covid-19 positive case nor any Covid related death in the State during the last 24 hours.
Altogether 61 samples were tested for the virus and all of them turned out to be negative.
Notably, the pandemic has already claimed 2120 lives in the State.
There was also no report of any discharge or recovery of during the last 24 hours which implied that there are still eight active cases and all of them belong to the general population.   The cumulative number of positive cases in the State stands at 1,37,230 (general population 1,32,216 and Central security personnel 5,014).
It includes 1,35,102 recovered cases (general population 1,30,095 and Central security personnel 5,007). The recovery rate as on Sunday is 98.45 per cent.
Taking into account 350 doses jabbed yesterday, the cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 28,69,625 (first dose 15,62,957, second dose 12,15,890 and precautionary dose 90,778). Till Saturday, 51.69 per cent of the State’s total eligible population has been vaccinated with both the first and second dose of Covid vaccine whereas 61.72 per cent has received the first dose.
