RNYO, RNSO urge

IMPHAL, May : Displeased over the 'third time collapse of Irang Bridge within a span of 19 months', the Rongmei Naga Youth Organisation (RNYO) and the Rongmei Naga Students Organisation (RNSO) have written to Chief Minister N Biren Singh to declare State  Highway via Bishnupur to Jiribam as National Highway with all public safety measures and facilities.
In a joint statement, the two organisations also urged the Chief Minister to scrutinise the collapsed bridge and actualise the reconstruction of the same with utmost attention.
The two organisations said that the third collapse of the Irang Bridge within a span of 19 months has provoked the sentiments of the people again.
It claimed that the leaders of RNSO and RNYO were even sent to  jail for raising complaints against 'corrupt' work of Irang Bridge constructors and company which resulted in the bridge collapse.
